Jim Forest in Stroudsburg
Jim Forest, renowned author and activist, was in the Stroudsburg area on Saturday, January 24, 2004. Two events were held, the first sponsored by Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, and the second by Holy Trinity. First, Jim gave a talk at the Hughes Public Library in Stroudsburg, at which he spoke about his journey to the Orthodox faith. He shared many stories from his own experience, notably about the church in Russia and Albania. Approximately 20 people attended this lecture. Following this, a booksigning was held at the Pilgrim's Inn Bookstore. This gave many individuals an opportunity to meet Jim and talk with him about various issues. To conclude the day, he attended Vespers at our parish.
