The Church During Divine Liturgy
The interior of the church was decorated with green leafy trees, branches, and leaves.
This is a reminder that the Holy Spirit, given to the disciples on Pentecost, is the "Giver of Life."
The Festal Procession
Since Pentecost is our parish feast day, a procession was held at the end of Liturgy.
At each of the four sides of the church, we stopped, prayed for God's mercy and protection, and blessed with Holy Water.
The procession begins.
The first stop, on the southern side of the church.
The second stop, on the eastern side of the church.
The third stop, on the northern side of the church.
The fourth and final stop, on the western side of the church.
Before going back into the church, we heard the words of Jesus in a reading from Matthew's Gospel.
